In our new ongoing series, How We Feed, we speak with family cooks to whom mainstream food media doesn’t normally speak. We’re kicking things off with food writer Kim Foster who talks to us about how she thinks about feeding a foster family.
About Out Guest: Kim Foster
Kim Foster is a James-Beard Award winning food writer who is currently at work on her new book, The Meth Lunches, for St. Martin’s Press. The book is about food, and what people eat and cook, at the intersection of poverty, mental illness and loss. It’s due out in 2023. Kim is the parent of four kids with her husband, David — Lucy (17), Edie (15), Raffi (10), and Desi (6). She and David were foster parents for several years and their youngest two were adopted from care. They have chickens, turkeys, bunnies, dogs and cats in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their house is very loud.
