Like our favorite brownies recipe, these easy Chocolate Chip Blondies are chewy, gooey deliciousness. In fact, they follow the same basic formula: lots of butter and just enough flour to hold it all together!
Our kids love when we make these with the King Arthur Flour Caramel Chip Blend — and, of course, it’s delicious — but we honestly prefer these blondies with dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips. If you want to try a sweeter chip like the caramel chip blend or butterscotch chips and you don’t want these to be super sweet, consider reducing the amount to a half cup.
However you chip these — or even if you skip the chips all together — we promise that, like our Chewy, Fudgy Brownies, this recipe will become your go-to, especially for everyday baking. (Because, you know us: #desserteveryday!)

Like our favorite brownies recipe, these easy Chocolate Chip Blondies are chewy, gooey deliciousness. Our kids love when we make these with the King Arthur Flour Caramel Chip Blend, but we honestly prefer these with dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips. If you want to try a sweeter chip like the caramel chip blend or butterscotch chips, but you don’t want these to be super sweet, consider reducing the amount to a half cup.
Ingredients
Cooking spray, to grease pan
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled (plus more for greasing the pan if not using cooking spray)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup dark chocolate or semi-sweet chips (see note above)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray the bottom and sides of an 8×8 baking pan, paying special attention to the corners; set aside. (If you don’t have cooking spray, grease well with butter.) Add brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to a medium bowl and whisk until smooth.
- Add flour, baking powder, and salt to the bowl. Using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon, mix until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter in the prepped baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out relatively clean. It’s okay for some batter to cling; the blondies will firm up as they rest and if you bake them all the way through, they won’t be as chewy. Once done, allow the blondies to rest for at least an hour before cutting.
